Jack running to plan after the opening 2 days of racing
The first 2 rounds of the 2010 Renault Clio Cup saw Jack in great form coming 9th in his first race on Saturday and 8th in the second race on Sunday.
Having qualified in 9th position, Race 1 was Jack’s first really competitive drive behind the wheel of the new Clio and his task was to keep out of trouble and stay in the top 10, this he did finishing in 9th position and earning himself 12 championship points.
Race 2 on Sunday saw Jack dropping from 9th to 13th position after a slide on the first lap but Jack’s character showed through as he quickly made his way up to 8th position amid furious racing, earning another 14 championship points and leaving him in 9th place overall in the championship.
“We have a strategic plan for Jack to cover his first season in the Clio’s,” said Jonathan Walters, team manager, “we are delighted with Jack’s performance in the first 2 rounds, this leaves him exactly where we hoped, we are looking forward to the next 2 rounds at Rockingham on 24th & 25th of April”.
